Danny Rizzo

Danny Rizzo, age 99, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Eaglecrest Nursing Home in Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born in Marsicovetre, Italy on August 19, 1913 to Francesco and Maria (Curcio) Rizzo. He was a mechanical engineer for Lindberg Engineering Company of Chicago, Illinois. He was an avid golfer, avid reader of history, and a self described lifelong amateur poet. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hellen (Betty) Meisenheimer (Divorced); his second wife, Daisy Eldene (Gooch) Rizzo; and four brothers, Peter, Michael, Joseph, and Anthony Rizzo. Survivors include one son, Dr. Richard J. Rizzo and wife Joanne of Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Nancy R. Maguire of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; two step-daughters, Jackie Hall of Branson, Missouri and Carolyn Witt of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother Mario Rizzo and wife Carol of Chicago, Illinois; three Grandchildren; two Step-Grandchildren; and two Step- Great Grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at the Cherokee Village Methodist Church Columbarium. A gathering of all the friends and family will be announced at a later date.
