Chester Charles Baird

Chester Charles Baird, age 94, of Williford, Arkansas passed away July 17, 2014 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born September 17, 1919 at Williford, Arkansas to Cassius Claude Baird and Ethel “Bottoms” Baird. He was a farmer, avid fox hunter, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Virginia Irene “King” Baird of the home, two sons, Charles Baird (Kaye) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and C.C. Baird (Patsy) of Williford, Arkansas, one brother Thomas Baird of Rolla, Missouri, two sisters, Geraldine Gatley of Washington and Sue Warren of Kentucky, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bettis Church of Christ near Center, Arkansas, with Charles and C.C. Baird officiating. Burial will follow in the Opposition Cemetery located in Ravenden, Arkansas. Visitation will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. at the Bettis Church of Christ. A meal will precede the visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. All arrangements by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
