Joanne Norell

Joanne Margaret Skoglund Norell, 81, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Healthcare and Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born April 20, 1933, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Hjalmer and Violet Anderson Skoglund. Mrs. Norell was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village and had volunteered at Mission of Hope in Hardy for several years. She was active in the church, Elks Lodge, and Women's Golf League. Prior to retirement to Cherokee Village in 1994, Joanne had worked as Head Cashier at Sentry Foods, a large grocery chain in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and missed only one day of work in 21 years. Mrs. Norell was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron, her son Larry, and her husband Ronald. Survivors include her sons Craig (Connie) Norell of Memphis, Tennessee, and Scott Norell of Cherokee Village; her sisters Janet, June, Carol, Dorothy, and Joyce; her grandchildren Nicole, Hansi, Taylor, Austin, and Kayla; her great-grandchildren Jayden, Ronan, and Xavier; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
