Barbara Midtlyng

Barbara Alice Midtlyng, 82, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at EagleCrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born November 13, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to Oscar and Evelyn (Scheidel) Peterson, who preceded her in death. Barbara was a teacher of special education students for 26 years in Illinois. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village and the Cherokee Village Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, Jay Warren Midtlyng of the home, and two sons, Norman (Karen) of Helena, Montana, and David (Mary Kay) of Waukee, Iowa; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be May 4 at 11 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Peace Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
