Berniece Horton

Berniece Horton, 90, passed away in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born in Flatwood, Arkansas, to Fiburn and Norma (Byrd) Heath. She was a member of the Ash Flat church of Christ. Berniece worked on the farm with her husband Bill for the 71 years of their marriage. She also worked for Boeing Aircraft, was a secretary for a lawyer in Hardy, and was a clerk at Hill's Pharmacy in Highland. She was involved in banking in Ash Flat and worked in the Sharp County Clerk's office for a number of years. Mrs. Horton served on the board of the Sharp County Nursing Home at Sidney. Berniece was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dean; and two brothers, Jay and Franklin. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; four sisters: Beatrice, Catherine, Barbara, and Diane; one brother, Ken; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and good friends. Visitation of family and friends will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 23, in the Ash Flat church of Christ with the funeral to start at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Wiles Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dennis, Stan, Stacy, Lee, Larry, and Josh Horton. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
