Barbara Ann (Skinner) Hart fell asleep in death on October 11, 2026 at the age of 85 years with her daughter, grand-daughter-in-law, and great-granddaughter by her side. She had lived most of her life in Searcy, Arkansas, but upon suffering the death of her husband, Barbara came to Ash Flat, Arkansas to be with her daughter and extended family.
Barbara was born in Pumpkin Bend, Arkansas to Alvin and Rosie (McGlothlin) Skinner, the sixth of eight children. She became a hard-working woman who just never quit; she always got things done. Her whole life, Barbara wanted to live in a way that was pleasing to God. She was at church every time she had the chance. As an adult she studied the Bible deeply and on April 29, 1973 was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness, something of which she was extremely proud. She remained a faithful servant of the one true God, Jehovah, the rest of her life.
In addition to losing her parents to death, Barbara lost her husband of 70 years, Grover; an infant daughter, Kathy; a son, Cleon; three grandchildren: Jeremy Hart, Allen Hart, and Troy Thompson; and her siblings: Vivian, Verlie, Lois, Angie, Lonnie, and James.
Barbara is survived by her son, Billy Hart and her daughter, Sally Thompson; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Margaret; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara will be remembered with fondness for her avid picture taking, her welcoming nature, her self-sacrificing spirit, and always wanting to make others feel safe, valued, and loved.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 908 Hwy. 367 N, Judsonia, AR 72081.
