Barbara Smith

Barbara Marie Smith, 81, of rural Evening Shade, Arkansas was born May 2, 1940 in McGehee, Arkansas and passed away June 8, 2021 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Faye (Averett) and Luther Carter Price; six siblings: Betty Franks, Linda Daugherty, Ed, Joe, Larry, and Harvey Price; and a granddaughter, Erica Crawford. Barbara attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Ash Flat and loved to read, shop, and play card games. She had worked as a restaurant cook. Survivors include her husband, Billy L. Smith; daughters: Shelia Lucas of Poughkeepsie, Wanda Crawford of Paragould, and Aline (David) Quirrels of Hardy; a son, Billy W. (Andrea) Smith of Little Rock; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Gail Price and Faye Walker; brothers: Carol, Marvin, Paul, and JR Price; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives as well as a host of good friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10 in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland. A graveside service is planned for Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. in Buchanan Cemetery near Poughkeepsie with Bro. Henry Parker officiating.
