Betty Ann (Moore) Hicks was born May 7, 1933, in Oakville, Maryland, to Royal Carlton and Vada Elizabeth (Hill) Moore. She departed this life October 22, 2019, at her home in Cherokee Village, Arkansas, at the age of 86 years. Betty was united in marriage to Leonard Hicks in Silver Spring, Maryland, on August 13, 1949. She was a homemaker who also worked as a baker (especially creating unique wedding cakes), cook, and seamstress. Betty was a Christian and attended Word of Life Tabernacle. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Ward (Danny) of Cherokee Village and Carol Jackson (Truman) of Henryville, Indiana; three sons: Glen Hicks and Steve Hicks, both of Cherokee Village, and Danny Hicks (Tonya) of Vail, Arizona; 18 grandchildren: John, Joanna, Sarah, Deborah, Sam, Amy, Cheryl, Rebecca, Ryan, Nathan, Timothy, Bradley, Justin, Angie, Brandon, Joshua, Westin, and Chase; 30 great-grandchildren: Megan, Stefanie, Candace, Victoria, Brittany, Becky, Brett, Brittany, Courtney, Leanne, Caden, Nicholas, Ansley, Ricki, Mia, Ty, Lauren, Allison, Grant, Gabrielle, Riley, Titus, Brayden, Gabriel, Bella, Ethan, Madison, Riley, Sadie, and Camdin; 15 great-great-grandchildren: Gracelynn, Easton, Mackenzie, Blake, Aydin, Daxton, Kenzie, Hunter, Kyndil, Emmitt, Veda, Presley, Hattie, Michael, and Jeremiah; two brothers, Carlton Moore and Jimmy Moore; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hicks of Ozark, Missouri; step-daughter, Patsy Ann Johnson of Oakdale, Louisiana; step-grandchildren: Royce, Jackie, and Rodney; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leonard; one son, Leonard James “Len” Hicks Jr.; and a step-granddaughter, Debbie. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, in Word of Life Tabernacle, Hardy, Arkansas, with Bro. Mike Price officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Eagles Rest Cemetery on Hwy. 175 northeast of Hardy. Pallbearers: John Ward, Sam Ward, Ryan Jackson, Tim Hicks, Justin Hicks, Josh Hicks, Brandon Hicks Honorary pallbearers: Brett Alexander, Caden Ward, Ty Siler, Nicholas Ward Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
