Calvin Hale Jr.

March 3, 1955 — September 7, 2019

Calvin Eugene Hale Jr., 64, was born March 3, 1955, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to Calvin Eugene and Martha Margaret Jane (Allred) Hale.  He passed away September 7, 2019, in Cherokee Village, Arkansas.  Calvin lived and worked in many states across the USA, playing bass guitar in multiple bands, including Cadillac Wheels which did backup for Red Sovine.  Later, Calvin formed a band with his brother Mike Asher.  Calvin worked for Ford Motor Company in Pocahontas, Arkansas, where he learned many skills as a mechanic.  He did welding for NASA on the external tank of the space shuttle in 1977-78, was a skilled carpenter and "jack of all trades" and also worked for Allstate Catastrophe Insurance. Calvin loved living on Martin Creek Road, talking and telling stories to people he met as well as sitting on the bank of Martin Creek with his family and friends who would stop by. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Sr.; his mother, Jane; his step-father Francis Asher; his infant daughter, Brandylyn Heather Hale; his sisters, Ricka Salamone and Pat Pierce; and his brother, Glen Hale. Survivors include his wife, Gina, of the home; his daughters, Michelle Lawson of Jasper, Arkansas, and Emily Hale of Williford, Arkansas; his sons: David Hale of Bass, Arkansas, Justin Hale and Caleb Hale, both of Williford; 15 grandchildren; his brothers: Mike Asher, Michael Hale, and John Hale; and many friends and acquaintances who will greatly miss his knowledge, his music, his stories, and his friendship. A ceremony will be held on Martin Creek with his family and close friends as was his wish.
