Debra Gwen Day, 57, of Highland, Arkansas passed away April 23, 2021 in Little Rock. She was born January 22, 1964 in Moses Lake, Washington to Donnie and Juanita Overstreet Stratton. Debra attended Highland Assembly of God and had worked as a secretary and business owner. She loved her family and was an avid advocate for animals; her favorite dogs were Tripp, Molly, and "Jake … from State Farm". She once rescued a possum from a sewage drain and was known to take squirrels to work with her hidden in her tucked-in shirt. Debra enjoyed arts & crafts, remodeling, yardwork, cooking, and dancing. Survivors include her children: Jerod Watts of Cherokee Village, Brittany Midkiff (Levi Tackett) of Jonesboro, Erica Ladd (Justin) of Highland, and Cassie Day of Highland; 16 grandchildren: Austin, Bianca, America, Liberty, Ataleigh, Tearany, Hunter, Gunner, McEnzie, Braxton, Memorieh, Legacie, Lejand, Jaiden, Kenyon, and Jax; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Juanita Barker of Nesbit, Mississippi; a brother, David Stratton of Flippin; a sister, Teresa Merritt of Southaven, Mississippi; many other relatives and good friends. Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Day; her father Donnie and step-mother Janice Stratton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel, 1540 Hwy. 62/412, Highland, Arkansas. Ricky Watts will officiate. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery at Highland. Pallbearers include Justin Ladd, Levi Tackett, Joe Leone, Austin Midkiff, Darrell Mohlke, and Tony Foster. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate financial donations taken to Tri-County Funeral Home or mailed to P.O. Box 665, Hardy, AR 72542 for the expenses of services, cemetery plot, and monument.
