Dorothy Marie Mas

Dorothy Marie Mas, 98, of Hardy, Arkansas passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her home. She was born there November 12, 1923 to Hubert and Mattie Clayton Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Rev. Nicholas Mas; a son, Barton K. Mas; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Mas; two brothers, Hubert and Fred Daugherty; and a sister, Sarah June Peeples. Survivors include her daughters, June Bond (Ed) of Austin, Texas and Nicki Lynne Bugbee of Whitesboro, New York; a son, Paul Mas (Ann) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jo Halbach of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Dorothy Marie had worked as a teacher and served as a Methodist minister's wife. She had three Masters degrees: English, Art, and Ministry and had prepared to be a missionary to China. A memorial service will be Monday, July 3 at 11 a.m. in the Hardy United Methodist Church.
