Ellen Davis

Mary Ellen Davis, 80, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away December 9, 2020 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born October 3, 1940 in Oklahoma to Roy and Lucy (Tudor) Payne. Ellen had been bookkeeper for the family business for over forty years. She loved playing games, especially canasta, and enjoyed reading; her favorite color was red. The highlight of any day was spending time with one or more of her 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and/or 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Payne. Survivors include the love of her life, whom she met in the late ‘70s, her husband, Don; nine children: Butch Davis (Lee), Kenny Brown (Paula), D.W. Davis (Patty), Etta Williams (Roger), Donna Williams (Billy), Cindy Isakson (Jeff), Lindy Brown (Johnny), Cynthia Davis, and Jenifer Ragins (Stephen); five siblings: Clifford Payne (Kathy), James Payne (Joreta), Sharon Admire (Bill), Shirley Silveria (George), and Linda Joiner; many other relatives and good friends. Services will be Saturday, December 12, at Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Arkansas. Visitation of family and friends will begin at noon with funeral following at 1 p.m. Tommie Boles will officiate. All attending are asked to wear red or animal print clothing to honor Ellen.
