Gene Hass

February 22, 1961 — January 16, 2026

Eugene "Gene" Joseph Hass, 64, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas passed away January 16, 2026 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born February 22, 1961 in McCall, Idaho to Eston Joseph and Billie Faye Stewart Hass, both who preceded him in death as did a brother, Richard Hass.

Gene was a member of Watters Road Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas and had earned the nickname of "Catdaddy" on the Houston ship channel working as a shore tankerman in the oil industry. He enjoyed reading and was a super fan of Arkansas Razorback sports and the NFL Washington Redskins. Gene was a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a Bachelors degree in Bible.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Causbie Hass, and three brothers: Farrell (Mary Ann), Danny (Pat), and Robert (Amy) Hass; many other relatives and great friends.

Memorial service will be in Ward St. Church of Christ in Hardy, Arkansas with Richard Akins officiating and James Causbie leading songs. Burial will be at a later date in Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat, Arkansas.
