Jack Horrell

Jack Horrell, 82, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at his home in Highland, Arkansas. He was born December 22, 1937, in Hardy, Arkansas, to "Bud" and Edith Hosman Horrell. After graduating from Hardy High School, Jack served his country in the U.S. Army for five years. He worked locally for 55 years as an independent businessman dealing primarily in sales of furniture. He particularly enjoyed hobbies of woodworking, gardening, fishing, raising rabbit dogs (beagles), and going quail and swamp rabbit hunting. Jack served as a deacon and on the treasurer's committee at Spring River Baptist Church. He was also a trustee for Bronaugh Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn James Horrell of the home; daughter, Dana Horrell of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; son, Duane Blankenship and his wife Janice of Bald Knob, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Rylan and Dylan Blankenship, Shalyn Blankenship Rowland, Tyler Trivitt, and Jacey Oakes; six great-grandchildren: Koy, Kip, and Kasyn Trivitt, Sloan and Bentley Blankenship, Keaton Ziegler; a sister, Mattie Anderson of Hardy; many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and good friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lee Horrell, and a sister, Willie Ann Garner. Visitation of family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 22, outside Spring River Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 10 o'clock with Pastor Terry Linderman officiating. Legacy Hospice Chaplain Ron Helm will offer the closing prayer. Burial will be in Bronaugh Cemetery.
