Marie Bell

Dixie Marie was born in Paragould, Arkansas in 1949 to Milton and Louise (Woods) Sawyer. She had so much fun growing up with her brothers and sisters. Marie passed away at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 76.

When she was 16 years old, Marie married Rusty Bell, and they had two children; she would always put them first and make so many sacrifices. Marie and her son became Pittsburgh Steelers fans and watched many games together. When he started playing football, she went to as many games as she could. When her daughter was younger, Marie would take time to play with her and at night would tuck her into bed as they said their prayers. When Marie's children were sick, she always took care of them. She cooked every day, did their laundry, cleaned, and took them to and from school. If help was needed with homework, she was there helping.

Marie dearly loved everyone in her whole family. One particular enjoyment was when her granddaughter would stay the night; they would watch videos and laugh. We will miss her always. "Mom, God is with you now. I can't wait to see you in Heaven."

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James Rusty Bell; sisters, Melba Sawyer and Clara Johnson; brothers: Bill, James, and Milton "Peanut" Sawyer; sister-in-law, Hope Sawyer.

Survivors include her daughter, Renee, of Williford, Arkansas; her son, Larry, of Rockford, Illinois; three grandchildren: Amanda, Morgan, and Evan; a brother, Lee; three sisters: Denise Knapp, Carla Arana, and Liz Chisnall (Terry); sister-in-law, Paulette Sawyer; many other relatives and friends.
