Reba Louise Sims, 89, of Nixa, Missouri, was born March 14, 1931, the daughter of James Thomas and Nola Elizabeth (Barclay) Denny. She entered into eternal rest October 2, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Reba was united in marriage January 10, 1947, to James Eldo Sims and to this union five children were born. Reba was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose passion was to serve the Lord with all of her heart first and then her husband. She was a faithful member and deacon's wife at Christian Tabernacle and Word of Life Tabernacle of Hardy, Arkansas. She dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren always placing them above herself. In her early years, she worked alongside her husband in their grocery stores; later they owned and operated Daylight Donuts in West Plains, Missouri. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband and brother-in-law Roy and sister-in-law Lillian Sims. Reba also enjoyed sitting around the table playing games with friends and family. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Gayle Brossard-Sims of Springfield, Missouri, and Bruce Dewayne Sims of West Plains, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Louise (Sims) Newman and Bethany Eileen Sims, both of Nixa; sons-in-law, Jeffrey Brossard-Sims and Johnny Newman; a sister, Eunice Fields; eight beloved grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and good friends. Reba was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a daughter, Judy Ann Sims; and three brothers: DC, Alfred, and James Albert Denny. Family will receive friends from noon until service time Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Word of Life Tabernacle; the funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with Bro. Cliff Farmer and Bro. Ben Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle's Rest Cemetery near Hardy. Pallbearers will include Dustin Sims, John Newman, Josh Sims, Josh Jones, Joe Sims, and Caleb Swearengin. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Wade and Dakota Crider. Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
